General Information

STARKEMER SKU-2000 is a high performanced, sprayed, plural-component hybrid polyurea elastomer. This system is based on MDI prepolymer with NCO content, hydroxyl-terminated polyether resin and amine chain extenders. It provides a flexible, tough, resilient monolithic membrane with good water and chemical resistance. It is satisfied with KS F 3211 class1 of Urethane rubber system.

Fast gel and tack-free times set making applicable on the inclined or vertical surface without sagging and short down time.

* Complete polymerization to achieve final strength can take up to several weeks, depending on a variety of conditions. The samples for tests were sprayed with a Gusmer H-3500 at 2,000 psi(13.79 Mpa) dynamic pressure. Primaries/Hose Heat 60℃ (140℉) GX-7 Standard Gun, Module #17, PCD # 213.

 

 

 

 

General Application Instructions

Apply STARKEMER SKU-2000 to only clean, dry, sound surfaces free of loose particles or other foreign materials. A primer may be required, subject to type and/or condition of the substrate. Consult technical service personnel for specific primer recommendations and substrate preparation procedures.

STARKEMER SKU-2000 can be sprayed over a broad range of ambient and substrate temperatures. The limitations are in the ability of the application equipment to provide adequate material pressure and heat. Contact technical service personnel for specific recommendations, pricing and availability of spray and auxiliary equipment.

It is recommended that SKU-2000 be sprayed in multidirectional (north-south/east-west) passes to insure uniform thickness.

The amine “B” component must be thoroughly power mixed each day, prior to use. Contact and STARKEMER

technician regarding proper mixing equipment. Follow the instructions attached to A and B containers.

 

Recommended Equipment Settings

Standard 1:1 ratio, heated, plural component equipment developing a minimum of 1,500psi (10.34 Mpa) dynamic pressure with heating capabilities to 79℃ (175℉) will adequately spray this product. These include

 

GRACO-GUNMER H-3500, H-20_35Pro, E-XP2. Gun models include Graco-Gusmer GX-7, GX-8, Fusion MP Gun.

Pre-heater temperature should be at 70~75℃ (158~167℉)

Hose temperature should be at 60~70℃ (140~158℉) a hose thermometer inserted under the insulation near the gun should read a minimum of 55~70℃ (131~158℉)

Physical properties will be enhanced when sprayed at higher pressure (2,500 psi or more) (17.24 Mpa), untilizing an impingement mix gun such as the Graco-Gusmer GX-7, GX-8, Fusion MP gun.

 

 

Directions for Work

  1. Direction for Primer PP-100 coating Check the cleaned well surface.

If there are some water it must be dried and must be not dusty.

Then apply to cleaned surface with proper primer, Primer SP-200 or SP-100 or Hi-Urethane Primer Apply with the SKU-2000 after curing the primer. It may be one to twelve hours after primer coating. See the DIRECTIONS FOR USE of Polyurethane Primer or Primer PP-100 for the details.

 

  1. Direction for SKU-2000

Check the curing of   Primer coating and then apply the SKU-2000.

You can only use plural component equipment(minimum 1500psi) dynamic pressure with heating capabilities to 79℃ will adequately spray this product on the same GRACO E-XP2.

Connect fluid supply hoses to outlet hose connections, connect main supply air hose. The unit does checking for pressure imbalance(more than 200psi)

Fast gel and tack-free times set making applicable on the inclined or vertical surface without sagging and short

down time.

If material temperature is low, the fluids must be circulated from the pump and rise in temperature depending on manufacturer.

The limitations are in the ability of the application equipment to provide adequate material pressure and heat.. In that time, you apply with 0.1~0.3mm of first coating. If you need more than 2mm thickness, apply within 1mm per one time until to get aiming thickness.

When the humidity is higher than 85%, you might as don’t use as possible. This product is for professional use only.

 

  1. Direction for top-coat SKU-2000 or Polyurethane Material TOP COAT

Check the curing of intermediate coating and then apply the SKU-2000 or Polyurethane Material TOP COAT. Repair the intermediate if there are some problems as curing problems or coming undone from the floor.

SKU-2000 is sprayed top-coat. It use plural component equipment (minimum 1500psi) dynamic pressure with heating capabilities to 79℃ will adequately spray this product on the same GRACO E-XP2.

Mix well the Hi-Urethane TOP COAT part A and part B.

You don’t need electric agitator because the viscosity of top coat is very low.

Coat the surface with mixed well Polyurethane TOP COAT with paint roller, sprayer or other instruments. It could be used thinner when it need to adjust the fluidity for easy control.

Do not use the alcohols as thinner, the alcohols react with the Polyurethane TOP COAT and became poor film. If you use sprayer, clean well the hose and other equipment of sprayer after the operations to prevent curing the Polyurethane TOP COAT in the equipment.

Keep prevent passage in 24~72 hours after applying and then permit when it fully cured. See the DIRECTIONS FOR USE of SKU-2000 or Polyurethane TOP COAT for the details

Mixing and Thinning

Thinning is not required. Using any thinner may adversely affect product performance.

Delivery, Storage and Handling

Delivery product in the manufacturer’s original, new, unopened package and containers, clearly marked with manufactuere’s identification, printed. Instructions, lot numbers and shelf life expiration date for each component.

Store materials not in use in tightly covered containers in a dry, well-ventilated area at an ambient temperature between 15~30℃ (60~90℉), away from sunlight, heat, or ther hazards.

Limitations

This product is for professional use only.

Minimum material/container temperature for spray application is 20℃ (68℉)      Avoid moisture contamination in containers.

Containers should not be resealed if contamination is suspected, Co2, created pressure can develop. Do not attempt to use contaminated material.

Read and observe all precautions, instructions, and limitations that are included with all containers of SKU- 2000.

Undried air exposed to liquid components will reduce physical properties of the cured coating.

NOTE: The material supplied is two components (A & B) used to formulate this product. The qulity and characteristice of the finished polymer is determinded by the mixture and application of the two components.
